Colleagues at Triagonal brainstorming on wayfinding project

Triagonal provides a range of different wayfinding services to match each specific type and scale of project. Although we consider all steps to be part of our complete service delivery, we also offer the possibility to purchase only selected steps of the process as combinations or individual services.

Triagonal - Icon for Spatial Analysis

Spatial analysis

Triagonal conducts a comprehensive analysis of your environment to get an understanding of the specific characteristics. The knowledge we gain not only includes the structure of the spaces and the potential signage strategy but also how users move and interact within the environment. If the spaces have not yet been built, we analyse plans and the anticipated user flows.

A flow analysis is made to help us determine significant touchpoints and decision points in the user journeys. These function as navigation pointers for the users’ behaviour and are therefore essential to planning wayfinding strategies.

Icon for User Studies

User studies

Triagonal customises user studies to your specific project. Combining user interaction with observations and interviews provides a deep understanding of both the obvious and underlying user needs.

When all relevant information has been gathered, desired user journeys and personas are created. These are essential tools for understanding which changes that need to be made as well as for making the initial drafts for the overall wayfinding strategy.

Triagonal - Icon for Tech Potential

Tech potential

Based on the knowledge gained from spatial analysis and user studies, we investigate the potential value of implementing digital wayfinding elements to guide or assist the users on their journey.

Should you prefer to incorporate a given technology or digitisation in the final solution, we perform an analysis of relevant digital platforms and we make sure that it can be seamlessly integrated with the overall wayfinding design and systematics – both digitally and physically. This is essential to provide the users with the best experience.

Triagonal - Icon for Flow Optimization

Flow optimisation

Triagonal evaluates the people flow and information in a given location in order to optimise the overall user experience and enable a hassle-free journey. Based on the wayfinding strategy, Triagonal delivers a number of options on how to simplify wayfinding, optimise space utilisation and flows.

All these elements highly rely on the positioning of information within the given space. Therefore, we showcase the suggested changes and adjustments to you in the original space as visualisations so you can evaluate and comment.

Triagonal - Icon for Navigation Strategy

Navigation strategy

Triagonal creates a clear, simple and consistent visual language that welcomes and guides users, while at the same time reflecting your brand and complimenting the architectural surroundings.

The wayfinding strategy is developed based on knowledge of which and how much information users can comprehend at the different steps of the journey and how to present the information in an easily perceptible and hierarchical manner. This site-specific wayfinding strategy includes naming, systematics, graphic design principles and identification information.

Triagonal - Icon for Architectural Integration

Architectural integration

Triagonal can include characteristic architectural elements in the wayfinding strategy to support the natural affordances of the space and create optimal user flows. This can be done e.g., by using art or super graphics on walls or by using lighting, fit-out elements or furniture creatively.

Such elements can nudge user behaviour and intuitive navigation, strengthen orientation and support memory. When these elements are respectfully integrated into the architecture, we see a synergetic spatial coherence rather than wayfinding perceived as a visually detached extra layer.

Icon for Design

Design

Triagonal develops detailed industrial and graphic design for any information element, including static, dynamic and interactive signage. Selected signs and signage elements can be prototyped and tested in the environment in order to give you a more tactile and realistic sense of the final design.

Triagonal’s creative approach to developing graphic and industrial design is not limited by traditional perceptions of signage design. Triagonal works comprehensively to communicate information in the clearest way possible.

Triagonal - Icon for Implementation

Implementation

Triagonal supplies technical specifications for tendering of the signage elements as well as evaluation of the manufacturers’ bids. We also provide supervision of the production and installation of the signage design and work closely with the manufacturing company in order to secure an efficient production process.

Together with you Triagonal inspects the final design and implementation of the wayfinding to secure that everything follows the planned and agreed structure. In this phase, it also becomes clear if any further post-implementation assistance is required.

Triagonal - Icon for Evaluation

Evaluation

An evaluation of the implemented wayfinding strategy can be conducted from both a client and a user perspective. Triagonal performs tailormade evaluation studies based on both qualitative and quantitative methods.

The studies consist of structured before-and-after measurements of user flows, user perception and other parameters related to the navigation of a given space. By comparing the before-and-after studies, Triagonal compiles a report describing the changes in user behaviour in order to provide an overview of the effects of the new wayfinding.

Triagonal’s systematic yet flexible design process is the core of what we do. Our approach to wayfinding and information design starts with understanding the context at hand. The process is dynamic and is adapted to the requirements of each individual project.

Discover

When designing wayfinding solutions, we always start with the user. Exploring and analysing the diversity of user’s objectives, motivations and behaviour within a given space is essential. Another fundamental element is assessing how to optimise the overall user experience throughout the entire journey, to the benefit of both our clients and their users.

Develop

In close collaboration with our client, we develop wayfinding strategies and systematics for the specific context and the needs of the user. We work iteratively with prototyping in order to design evidence-based wayfinding solutions. With our graphic and industrial design skills, we translate our ideas into visual design.

Deliver

We take part in the entire process, and, together with our client, we follow every step to ensure that our common vision comes to life. We deliver detailed industrial and graphic design ready for tender, and during the production and installation of wayfinding elements, we make sure that everything is executed according to our planning and your expectations.
