Navi Mumbai International Airport

Wayfinding masterplan

As part of the Zaha Hadid Architects team, we have won the international competition of the new Navi Mumbai International Airport. The appointment of the Zaha Hadid team was awarded by GVK, operator of Mumbai’s existing airport as well as the future Navi Mumbai.

As this is a completely new greenfield airport, we have been brought on to handle all wayfinding related tasks throughout the entire airport: industriel design, graphic design, naming, systematics, positioning, design of signage family, signage layout, user journeys etc.

The project started in April 2018, and the fully developed airport is designed to handle 60 million passengers a year by the year 2032.

“We have already started, as the first Terminal is scheduled to be fully designed in the summer 2019. Everyone involved in the project is very excited and extremely motivated to create something extraordinary. I am sure the result is going to be amazing on all fronts!” Nicolai Okkels, Triagonal Partner
