You may not be aware of it, but we are: You’re a navigating subject! We all are! We all rely on different information or signs when moving from one place to another. As wayfinding experts, we, at Triagonal, do everything within our power to work out how the users of a space navigate. We do so by studying the place thoroughly – and, the mood and mode of the users while they’re moving in it. We want to know, how all you navigating subjects experience your way from A to B so we can create the most smooth and efficient design.
The thing is: Wayfinding succeeds well, when it doesn’t register with you. However, in our wayfinding it’s not so that one size fits all. We need to take all your strategies into account in our work, because: Some look for colours, other for letters, some can’t read and need a pictogram and alphabets are not the same everywhere. So that’s why we study your ability to be attentive in a certain environment, and then use this knowledge when designing what is needed to make you reach your intended destinations. And feel at ease as you go along. With a bit of poetry, one could argue that wayfinding should be like a mild wind that blows you in the right direction. Or an alluring whisper that guides you.
