The Black Diamond – The Royal Library

Wayfinding strategy and design

The Black Diamond on Slotsholmen in Copenhagen is a public building with many different user types, spanning from tourists and students to visitors of art exhibitions and conferences. Because of the many different visitor groups, it has often been difficult to clarify where people should go to find what they’re looking for.

Triagonal was brought in to develop and design a new wayfinding systematic making it easier for all visitors to identify their unique destination. Triagonal developed the wayfinding systematic around selected user groups and created colour codes aimed at each group, thereby allowing them to navigate more easily.

The project is expected to be finished by the end of 2018 and the new wayfinding signage should be guiding people by the beginning of 2019.
