The Black Diamond – The Royal Library

Wayfinding strategy and design of wayfinding elements

The Black Diamond, located at Slotsholmen in Copenhagen, is a public building with many different types of user groups, spanning from tourists and students to visitors of art exhibitions and conferences. Therefore, it has been difficult to clarify where people should go to find what they were looking for.

Triagonal was brought in to develop and design a new wayfinding systematic making it easier for all visitors to identify their unique destination. Triagonal developed the wayfinding systematic around selected user groups and created colour codes aimed at each group, thereby allowing them to navigate more easily.
